Econometrics is a discipline that examines the relationships between economic data in an empirical way using mathematics and statistical methods. The primary purpose of econometrics is to analyze various economic problems and to ensure the most appropriate economic decisions. With the rapidly developing computer technology in recent years, the possibilities of developing economic theories with numerical analysis have increased, and this has caused the Econometrics branch to progress rapidly.

The Department of Econometrics consists of Statistics and Operations Research departments. The education period is four years, and the language of education is Turkish.

Job Opportunities

Students who graduated from the Department of Econometrics; can work in the Ministry of Development, Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), Central Bank, Capital Markets Board (SPK), Ministry of Treasury and Finance, research units of all banks and ministries, insurance and research companies. In addition to these, they have the opportunity to find jobs in any business where economists are employed.

The staff of our department consists of 1 Associate Professor Doctor and 3 Assistant Professor Doctors. The academic and physical infrastructure process of our Econometrics Department, established in 2012, continues. After the completion of these processes, the department will start accepting students.

Vision

When our department becomes active, it aims to educate students with a sense of rational thinking, high analysis ability, and social responsibility awareness, in addition to becoming a nationally preferred and recognized department in the field of econometrics, as well as owning Ataturk's principles and reforms.

Mission

Graduates will have theoretical and practical knowledge of economics, statistics, and computer software.
